The healthcare startup aimed to launch a modern and highly versatile online shop that combines several different product categories. These included physical products sourced from third-party providers, their own rental products in the medical field—such as pregnancy monitoring equipment—and digital training films aimed at therapeutic professionals, which were intended to be offered as secure downloads. The combination of these diverse offerings created a unique challenge in terms of structuring the online shop.
The key difficulty was to map these multiple business models within a single platform, each with its own specific requirements for product presentation, checkout logic, legal compliance, and customer communication. Furthermore, the new shop had to reflect the existing corporate brand identity while ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across all digital touchpoints, including desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Achieving this required careful planning, close collaboration with the startup team, and a flexible but robust technical solution.
At the start of the project, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the target groups, the various product types, and their specific technical and legal requirements. Together with the client, we developed a shop concept that clearly structures the different categories, presents them in a visually appealing and user-friendly manner, and allows for flexible future expansion as the company grows and adds new products or services.
For the visual design, we aligned closely with the existing website’s look and feel to maintain a consistent brand presence. At the same time, we emphasized intuitive navigation, emotionally engaging product presentation, and a clear separation between rental items, products for sale, and digital downloads. This ensured users could quickly find the right product type while experiencing a cohesive, professional design.
We selected a Shopify theme that could be easily adapted to the existing corporate design and complemented it with specific apps to implement functions such as rental conditions, secure file downloads, and automated customer communication. The system was designed to be highly modular, allowing for additional features to be added in the future without disrupting the core shop architecture.

Rental products include detailed information on rental duration, return procedures, and deposit requirements where applicable. Digital products are securely downloadable immediately after purchase. Training films have dedicated pages with content and visuals tailored to therapists’ needs, including detailed descriptions, target groups, format, and duration, ensuring clarity and professional presentation.
All products were optimized for search engines, and the checkout process was carefully configured to accommodate the unique requirements of each product type. Integration of popular payment methods such as PayPal, credit cards, and Klarna, along with a comprehensive shipping and returns setup, provides a smooth and reliable user experience.
Before the official launch, the shop underwent extensive testing to ensure stability and usability. The client received personalized training on using the Shopify backend, and all access credentials, along with clear documentation, were handed over for operational independence.
With this solution, the healthcare startup now offers its customers a professional platform that seamlessly integrates diverse product types.
