The Startup wanted to realise a modern online shop that combines several different product categories: physical products from third-party providers, its own rental products in the medical field (e.g. pregnancy monitoring) and digital training films for therapeutic professions, which should be available as downloads.
The challenge was to map these different business models within one system - each with their individual requirements for product presentation, checkout logic, legal information and customer communication. In addition, the design of the new shop needed to reflect the existing brand image and ensure a consistent user experience across all channels.
At the start of the project, we analysed the target groups, product types and technical requirements together with the customer. We developed a shop concept that clearly structures the various product types, presents them in a user-friendly way and allows flexible expansion for future offers.
For the visual structure, we orientated ourselves closely to the existing look and feel of the existing website to create a consistent brand presence. At the same time, we emphasised intuitive user guidance, emotional product presentation and a clear separation between rental items, sales products and digital downloads.
We chose a Shopify theme that could be easily adapted to the existing design and supplemented it with selected apps to implement specific functions - such as rental conditions, file downloads and automated customer communication.
The result is a scalable, professionally designed Shopify shop with clearly structured navigation and well thought-out categorisation:
Rental products were provided with special information on the rental period, return and, if applicable, deposit, while digital products are available as a secure download after purchase. Separate product pages were set up for the training films, with content and visuals tailored to the needs of therapists - including description, target group, format and duration.
All products were designed to be search engine friendly. The checkout process considers the special features of the respective product types. The integration of common payment methods (PayPal, credit card, Klarna, etc.) and a well thought-out shipping and returns structure round off the system.
Before going live, the shop was extensively tested and the customer received personal training on how to use the Shopify backend. All access data and clear documentation were handed over.
With this solution, the healthcare startup now offers its customers a professional platform that combines a wide variety of product types - technically stable, brand-compliant and ready for future expansions such as customer portals, training certificates or interactive course content.
