ERP Standardization Upgrade

ERP Standardization Upgrade

The project supported the transition from a custom ERP solution (including CRM tool) to standard software to reduce costs and dependencies.

Project Implementation

Challenge

After several decades of using a custom-built ERP solution (including CRM), our client decided to switch to a packaged software solution. The key reasons for this decision were:

  • High development costs: Every small change to the custom software was charged at a high cost by the provider.
  • Constantly increasing support costs: The provider had to permanently assign an employee for second-level support, leading to high ongoing costs.
  • Dependency: The custom development led to an unhealthy dependency on a single provider and its tailored solution.

Our Approach

Through a comprehensive analysis of all relevant aspects - including existing products, data, processes, systems, business workflows and print center requirements - we worked with the customer's internal core team to develop a 360-degree view of the minimum requirements for the new system. This analysis laid the foundation for the successful selection and implementation of the appropriate off-the-shelf software.

Our Solution

We accompanied the media house through all phases of the system implementation: from the initial planning steps to data migration, go-live and the subsequent stabilization phase. Our project management ensured a smooth transition and the achievement of the goals set.

With the new system, the leading media house in Italy was able to realize the following benefits:

  • Efficient process mapping: All necessary internal processes are optimally and sustainably supported.
  • Continuous development: The software is regularly updated by the provider and adapted to market changes.
  • Increased flexibility: Thanks to the modular architecture of the system, the internal core team is now able to independently make system adjustments.
  • Cost-efficient support: The media house benefits from 24/7 support from the provider, with costs only a fraction of the previous expenses.

With this transition, the media house was able to not only reduce dependencies but also save costs in the long term and increase its competitiveness.
